We respect and incorporate Maria Montessori’s philosophy, but we are not a Montessori school. In addition to Montessori methods, we use the latest interactive technologies, hands on projects and the Socratic Method for discussions.
By 2030 , we will be a complete private school for children ages 4-18. We do not have grade levels, instead, we have mixed-age groups. We believe that children learn best when working with children younger and older than themselves rather than split up into groups based solely on age. In addition to individualized curriculum, all ages of students work together in groups.
The total (in-full) amount comes to $8,300USD (15,000 nafl) plus 6% OB. We offer sibling discounts and payment plans. Rates are flat and will not increase as a young person gets older. Please download our Tuition Fees.
Unfortunately no. One main reason is that on average, for every year a child is conditioned in a traditional model (sitting to learn, waiting for instruction, teachers lecturing), it takes about one month to transition at an Acton Academy (taking responsibility for one's education, self-paced, self-initiated). Thus, it is our responsibility to protect the learners and their studio culture who have joined us before age 12 as they enter a more independent and rigorous Middle School Studio (age 12 to 14).
By 2030 , we will be a complete private school for children ages 4-18. Over the next six years as our eldest learners age-up, we will grow into a Middle School studio (age 12-14) and High School studio (age 14-18). Their high school transcripts will look like a top private school in the United States.
We operate on an eleven month calendar, but our flexible program allows families to travel together during the year, without sacrificing any learning. Our school year goes from August to June. Download our 2024-2025 school calendar.
